Rest timer

Starts itself when you log a set, counts on the clock rather than in memory, and buzzes once when the rest is over.

Tap a rep count to log your set and the timer starts on its own. No second button, no setting it each time. Ninety seconds by default; change it once in Settings and it applies everywhere.

It counts against the actual clock rather than ticking in the background, which means leaving the app, locking the phone or taking a call cannot make it lose time. Come back and the number is right.

When it ends the phone buzzes once. Sound is off by default, because a gym is loud and a chirping phone between sets is the wrong default; turn it on in Settings if you want it. There is a +30 s button for when you need one more breath, and setting the duration to zero turns the timer off entirely.

Inside a superset or a circuit the timer knows the difference between changing station and finishing a round — see supersets and circuits.
