StackUp

Changelog

Every release, dated.

An app that stops shipping goes quiet. This page is the record that StackUp has not: what changed in every version on Google Play, and the day it went live.

1.5.2,

Two fixes from a fresh install

, Bug fix release, 4 Fixed,

Fixed

  • The "only on this phone" backup reminder no longer shows when you're signed in and your log is synced.
  • Pop-up cards like "How progression works" no longer cut off their button on wide screens.
  • Taps on a pop-up card no longer reach the screen behind it.
  • On first start, the back gesture closes "How progression works".
1.5.1,

Fixes from your feedback

, Bug fix release, 1 New, 1 Improved, 4 Fixed,

New

  • Change the date of a finished workout: open it, tap edit, then tap the date.

Improved

  • Your target rep range has a bold outline instead of a grey fill.

Fixed

  • Typing a weight or rep count replaces the old value instead of adding to it.
  • Stats: only the selected range (3M / 1Y / All) is highlighted.
  • Google sign-in tells you when it fails instead of doing nothing.
  • A workout that ran past midnight shows the day it started, the same day History shows.
1.5,

Your training log, on every device

, Feature release, News, 4 New, 1 Improved,
News

Sync is free and optional. Without an account, everything works exactly as before.

New

  • Sign in with Google, and your log syncs across your devices.
  • Mark a set as a warm-up: it stays in your log, but never skews a weight suggestion, a personal best or your stats.
  • Export your whole log as a file, any time.
  • Delete your account and everything on the server from Settings, immediately.

Improved

  • Opening a session is noticeably faster.
1.4,

Supersets and circuits, rebuilt

, Feature release, 4 New, 2 Improved, 2 Fixed,

New

  • A group is one card on the workout screen, showing the round you are on and what comes next.
  • A dedicated group editor: add, remove and reorder exercises, and set the rest per group.
  • Group any two exercises, not just neighbours: pick the partner from a list.
  • Skip a whole group with one swipe.

Improved

  • Two exercises make a superset, three or more a circuit, named that way everywhere.
  • Rest between exercises and rest after each round are set separately.

Fixed

  • In a superset, logging a set now takes you to the next exercise in the group. Before, only Finish exercise did.
  • With two supersets beside the same exercise, both are now reachable from its menu.
1.3,

157 exercises, up from 20

, Feature release, 7 New, 4 Improved,

New

  • 137 new exercises for barbell, dumbbell, machine, cable and bodyweight, each tagged with its muscle groups and equipment.
  • A two-step exercise picker: search, pick a recent one, or browse by muscle group.
  • Cardio: log time and distance, with a stopwatch that keeps running when you leave the app.
  • Supersets and circuits: group exercises in a split, and rest between rounds instead of between sets.
  • Your own exercises can track time alone, for holds like a plank.
  • Filter your stats by muscle group.
  • An illustrated icon for every exercise and every split.

Improved

  • The progression arrows are drawn icons now, crisp at every size.
  • Clearer type throughout, on a tidier scale of sizes.
  • Small controls on the workout screen, like the set menu, are easier to hit.
  • Better contrast in several places.
1.2.1,

Four fixes, three of them in Stats

, Bug fix release, 4 Fixed,

Fixed

  • Stats: filtering exercises no longer makes every chart disappear until you restart the app.
  • Stats: the filter list scrolls, so you can reach every exercise, not just the first few.
  • Stats: body weight shows a card before you log anything, like every other entry.
  • Workout: opening an exercise for the first time no longer stutters.
1.2,

A workout screen rebuilt for one hand between sets

, Feature release, 8 New, 5 Improved, 1 Fixed,

New

  • A rest timer that starts when you log a set. Stop it or add 30 seconds any time.
  • Tap a rep count to log a set. No keyboard.
  • A different weight for every set, so pyramids and drop sets log correctly.
  • Add an exercise in the middle of a session.
  • Swipe an exercise to skip it for today, and swipe it back to undo.
  • Search when you add an exercise.
  • Dark mode: follow the system, or choose light or dark in Settings.
  • Progression can count the average of all your sets, besides the first, the last or the best one.

Improved

  • One exercise open at a time, the rest folded to a line each.
  • When your sets use different weights, the heaviest one decides the next suggestion.
  • A quicker first-time setup: pick a split and start.
  • The explanation of the arrows now appears right after setup, not only in your first workout.
  • Once you have logged ten sessions, a reminder appears when your last backup is more than a month old.

Fixed

  • An exercise you could not do used to count as a result and could break a deload streak. Skip it now, and the streak holds.
1.1,

The first release: log your sets, and StackUp works out the next weight

, Feature release, News, 15 New,
News

StackUp is on Google Play: free, with no ads and no account. Your log stays on your phone.

New

  • Auto-progression: go above your target rep range and the next session suggests more weight; fall below it and it suggests less. Every exercise gets an arrow, up, level or down, so you always see why.
  • Three sessions below the range in a row bring a real deload: 90 % of your last weight instead of another small step.
  • Override any mark when you know better.
  • Splits: build your routine once, reorder it by dragging, and start a session from it. Six ready-made splits to begin with.
  • 20 exercises to start from, and your own on top, each with its own number of sets if you want one.
  • Sessions without a split, and a History tab with every session you have logged.
  • Every exercise shows what you did last time, and takes a note of its own in every session.
  • Edit a finished session: weight, reps, sets, marks, note and body weight. Everything you can set during a workout.
  • The finish screen names every new personal best.
  • A chart for every exercise, framed around your numbers rather than starting at zero, and one for your body weight. Switch any card between weight and volume, and see your three most recent personal bests on it.
  • A training-frequency card that follows the range you pick.
  • Back up your whole log to a file, and restore it later.
  • Delete a session, or discard one you started by mistake.
  • Kilograms or pounds.
  • Fully in German, exercise names included.
