Cardio

Time and distance instead of sets and reps, with a stopwatch that keeps running when you leave the app.

Ten cardio exercises ship with the app — treadmill and outdoor running, cycling, the rowing machine, elliptical, stair climber, jump rope, incline walking, swimming and the assault bike. They log duration and distance rather than weight and reps, and either one alone is enough: a treadmill gives you both, a rowing machine might only give one.

There is a live stopwatch on the card. It stores the moment you started rather than counting in memory, so locking the phone, switching apps or the system killing the app in your pocket costs you nothing — the time is still right when you come back.

Cardio is logged, not judged. It gets no up or down arrow and no weight suggestion, because "what does an increase mean for a 5 km run" has no honest one-sentence answer — faster, further, or the same distance at a lower heart rate are all progress and the app cannot tell which you wanted. It is also left out of a session's arrow counts, so a run never dilutes what your lifting did.

When you stop the timer you get a cooldown rather than the usual rest: a tenth of what you just did, never under 30 seconds and never over five minutes. Exercises that are timed but cover no ground — planks, holds, carries — show only the clock.

A logged run: 25:50 over 5.05 km, with no arrow and no weight to suggest.
